My little project is growing and is now enriched with another part of the human body: the head.
My choice came out after finding old family’s handwritten sheets. These are ancient documents, wills or letters, dating back to the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
I thought they could be a very interesting paper for a print and the perfect subject of this print would have been skulls.
So I took the Complete Guide to Drawing from Bridgman’s Life and did some drawing exercises.

Then I chose the images of skulls and started to engrave them.

I ended up printing on the old documents.

An interesting effect I was hoping for: the old handwriting is visible under the new deep black ink, deeper and more opaque.
The result is perfect!
