I love irises! My passion started when I was a student at the Università della Calabria. One day in the early spring I went to the Botanical Garden of my university and I was astonished: the road leading to the building was edged by a series of bushes full of opulent and multicolored flowers. They were irises of every possible kind everywhere.
In my engraving work the irises have returned many times.
Here is a gallery,

These two are etchings and date back to engraving school time (2019).

These two are very recent, the first of a new series.

More irises.

Many irises.
The last one is colorful. It is a rare species of mountain iris, Iris perrieri, and it’s part of a larger collage of mountain fields.
